Delhi Tour ( 3281 KM Pune - Delhi - Pune )

Finally after lots and lots of problems I was able to do my Delhi Ride.

After my Baroda Tour i was suppose to do a Delhi ride in the month of December. Every thing was final but due to some last minute problems our ride was cancelled on the day of ride. I was really upset but could not do anything. In the month of Jan i did my Nashik Ride, but Delhi was always there in my mind. Me and my friends decided to do our Delhi ride in the month of june as soon as our exams get over. We finalised the day and did rest of the plannings.

THE ROAD THAT WE CHOSE

I wanted to go to Ambaji Dham so this road was Chosen. We were supposed to leave from lonavala and ride upto Vadodara on 1st June. On 2nd from Vadodara to Koushals Village via Ambaji.
on 3rd and 4th stay there and sightseeing at Udaipur and Jodhpur. On 5th Ride upto Delhi. 6th and 7th sightseeing at Delhi and then return via some route on 8th 9th and 10th.

THE DAY BEFORE RIDE 31 MAY 2017

A couple of days before ride i as very busy with my personal work due to which i was unable to be in contact with my friends so a day before the ride i spoke to Sourabh via phone and then tried calling Koushal, but we were unable to talk, so i decided to visit his place.
As i reached his place, he was also busy packing. While we were discussing, koushals dad came. He asked if all the packings were done, asked if my parents had allowed me for the ride and told us to ride safe.

After talking to uncle i casually told Koushal that the same things are even told at my place and then we laughed. 
I then asked him whether he had permission - he said YES
I then asked more louder do you have permission till Delhi ??????? - he said NO

What do you mean NO. I totally lost my mind. the whole plan was screwed. I some how kept calm and came home and told my mom what had happened. i was like i don't want to go for ride. I was very upset. Then my mom convinced me and said that its the first time you are going 500+ km so be it. may be next time you can go. I was like   
                                                                       

FIRST DAY ( 1.6.2017 ) LONAVALA TO VADODARA

As decided earlier I and Koushal were going to leave at 6:00 am from my place and Sourabh will meet up on the way.

We left around 6:30 am from my place. It was a pleasant morning. It had rained in the morning a couple of days before so we were a bit tensed. but the climate remained good. We had refuled the day before so we dint stopped for that We made our first stop near Reliance in Ghansoli as i had to call Sourabh and tell him to leave for the meeting point.
We were waiting for Sourabh after crossing Mulund-Airoli Link road. He reached there in about 10min. We then talked to each other and then started our journey. We had done 80 km from my place


I had done 500 Km ride before but it was first time for both my friends. We were cruising around 80kmph untill our first official stop which was at Vitthal Kamat. We had done 156km. We had our breakfast over there and spent almost 45min over there. I dint wanted to wait so long but it was not a solo travel so i had to wait for my friends.


After our breakfast we started riding again. we then stopped at Gujarat Check post for clicking some pictures.






Then we decided not to stop up to fuel brake. We were moving in formation of me followed by Koushal followed by Saurabh. We then took a fuel brake. Koushal and Sourabh Refuled but i dint i had enough. 

Then we again started riding the temperature was getting hot and hot. To beat that heat i was riding in triple digit speed, meanwhile i dint realised that i had left my friends behind. when i realised that i was not able to spot them i stopped under a tree and started calling them. They told me that they were not able to cope up with me and had taken a halt. They had sugarcane juice. i told them where i was waiting. They came there and then we went at a hotel so that we could have something to eat. Unfortunately the place where we had stopped was not that great, we had water and ice cream and waited there for around 30min.





We were felling hungry so decided to stop at the next hotel which we find good. We had our lunch 40km ahead of Navsai. Our halt was of 1 hr 30 min. my friends were tired i was also felling a but low because of extrem heat. As we started from there i realised that i had very less fuel, so i waved my hands towards my friends saying i wanted to refuel. Just after traveling less than 1km i stopped by the road side and inform my friends that i will refuel but they were not spotted. I waited for a lot of time but still no one was spotted. i tried calling them many times but none of then answered.My phone battery died thanks to bike charger which i installed it saved my device. Almost 30min later Koushal called back and asked me where i was. I told them where i was he shocked to hear that, when i asked him where he was he said he was almost 25KM ahead of me. I was like when did you guys passed me. I then Quickly refueled and started riding fast. I had told Koushal to wait where he was. It took me 30min to reach Koushal. When i reached there Saurabh was not there i asked him where he was he said they were riding together but now he does not know. He is sending his location. When we received the location we saw that Saurabh was at Karjan Toll Plaza which was roughly aroung 35km from our location. We both then stayed together and got to Saurabh. Saurabh went crazy seeing us. He said he did not see Koushal nor me. We than laughed upon ourself and talked about the funny incident.

Now we were only 50KM from our first day Destination. We all decided to stay together for the left road. After traveling about 30KM the weather turned out to be very bad. Strong Wind with Lightning. we thought that its going to rain. The wind was Sandy. Everything was going inside our helmet. We were not able to ride. We were riding at an speed of aroung 30Kmph. Somehow we managed to reach our destination in Vadodara. It was 7:30 pm. It took us 13hrs to travel 490 KM.
We were tired. so just had our dinner and slept.


DAY 2 ( 2.6.2017 ) VADODARA TO SHIVTALAV VIA AMBAJI

After such a tiring ride on day 1 and even the weather turning bad we were nit sure on what to do on day 2. But for a surprise the weather was very pleasant. We got up at 5:00am and had decided to leave by 6:30 am which we did. My Masa jii had given us detailed map of how to go, as the GPS showed via express way where bikes are not allowed. Thank you so much masa jii.


The weather was cool and all of us were also feeling positive. We maintained a good speed in the morning. A lot of improvement was seen in riding of Saurabh. This time we all were riding together without moving very far from each other. The photos on our first stop are bellow.





There was lots of traffic at Ahmedabad Ring road. Koushal was very much frustrated due to traffic. He even broke two signals due to his frustration. After Ahmedabad the roads were not that great. It was a single lane road and not even in good shape. We were struggling to maintain good speed. As we had left early we did not had our breakfast. We were looking for a place to have breakfast and then we found a nice place to have breakfast. We had Aloo Paratha.


 They were not that delicious but we ate it. As the temperature was rising it was getting tough for us to ride. We were stopping almost every 50 km.


 My friends did not wanted me to go ahead so they kept me last in the formation.


Then the ghat began. We were very careful of the way. Slowly we managed to reach Ambaj Dham.


We had a small water break just after entering Ambaji Dham. Some school kids were standing there. They were very interested in our bikes, while leaving from there they told us not to listen to anyone on the way they try to fool you and get some money of you. Just go straight till the find the temple and park there. And actually that happened. While the temple was not anywhere near people tried to stop us and said that there is no parking ahead, you cannot take your vehicle ahead etc. We did nit listened to anyone and went ahead. There was a nice guy who told us where to park. We parked our vehicles there and went for Darshan. I and Saurabh went first while koushal was standing near to bikes as our luggage was there. No mobile or camera are allowed inside the temple complex. The temple was under renovation so some part of it was closed but the rest was very nice. It was my first time to the temple. The idol is very pleasing to eyes. I just prayed that our ride goes well and nothing happens to anyone of us. Then we came out. Then i went again with Koushal while Saurabh was waiting near the bike. I got one more chance to go inside the temple. This time while coming out we saw a man with camera. He charged us Rs.30 for the picture.


Now we decided to leave and have our lunch on the way. While my camera battery died i could not capture the hotel but it was a good one. We had our lunch there. I charged my camera also. The hotel where we waited was in jungle, there was no network to make a call. We left from there around 4:30pm after a halt of more than 2 hrs. We then continued our journey the road was very narrow but had scenic beauty around. We had to stop for some pictures. I actually dint wanted to stop as we were running very late on our schedule thus i did not remove my helmet, so even my friends did not wanted to take me in the picture. some how i managed to get in there.



After the fun with pictures we did not stop anywhere on the way. We came near to place where we had to connect to Udaipur Highway. We stopped there as There was less air in Saurabh's Tyre. They had dropped by 10bar in each tyre. We called our parents and informed them about our well being.


Now it was 4 lane road, we were in triple digit speed. Everything was going well until rain came in. While we were riding about 120 kmph heavy rain started coming. We had to ultimately stop at a nearby hotel for shade. I Had to remove my luggage as it was not covered. It rained heavily for almost 20min. In the picture below my friend helping me put my bag back on bike.


After all this rain drama, when we started out ride back we found that it did not rain anywhere further. So the roads were also dry. We again started moving with triple digit speed. The roads are just FAB. Whole mountains are been cut down to make the road. The view you get is also FAB. There is even a small tunnel adding beauty to the roads.



We had decided not to stop until we reach our destination but unfortunately there was an accident on the way due to which there was a very long traffic jam. Thank God we had bike, Somehow after delay of around 20 min we were able to come out of that traffic jam. Then we halted for water. My friend wanted to capture sunset so we halted there.



We were just 50Km from our destination but the roads were so bad that it took us 2 hrs to reach. The night riding was fun but the roads were punishment. Somehow we managed to reach our destination. at around 9:30 pm


It took us 15hrs to travel 481 KM. We then had our dinner at a nearby Dhaba and then slept.


DAY 3  ( 3.6.2017 ) SHIVTALAO TO UDAIPUR ( UDAIPUR TOUR )

Our Day began at 11:00am  with a phone call from Saurabh's mom. As we were tired, we slept for almost 12 hrs. We got out it was 47 degree out there. Sun was trying to bake us alive. Our bikes were in a very dirty condition, so we decided to take it for a wash and then get ready to leave for Udaipur.
Just before leaving for bike wash i called my mom and told her that my friends are not coming till Delhi, I really wanted to go up to Delhi. I told her to convince dad and give me permission for Solo ride upto Delhi. On which she said she will talk to dad and tell me later. Than we left for washing.
As i parked my bike for washing the electricity went as if they dint wanted to clean our bikes.


Then after coming back Koushal brought key to his garage where we parked our vehicle inside to protect it from sun.
Then we got freshened up and were ready to leave for Udaipur. We were going by car. Koushal bhai brought his Rapid for the ride. We were also accompanied by one of koushals friend. 




Just before leaving for Udaipur i got a call from my father asking about my Delhi ride plan. I told him the plan on which he was agreed a bit, but most of it he changed and asked me to follow according to his plan of cancel the ride. There were lots of terms and conditions that i had to agree. and finally it was a YES ( A big Relief for me )  
We left for Udaipur around 1;30pm. It was a Ghat road. I did not feel well. It was dense forest. On the way he showed us Ranakpur and many other places. When we reached the highway, my friends had lunch. I was not well so i dint ate anything. We reached Udaipur by 4:30pm. The first place that we saw was Vintage and Classic car collection. 


It had 25 cars in there with some newly made solar cars for display. The ticket per person is Rs250. There was a man over there who opens each room, gives you information about each car and then closes it. It was a good collection but according to its cost it was not worth the money.



We then wanted to visit the palace but due to lack of time we went straight to Pichola lake. It was a nice place but quite dirty. You can see Hotels inside lake and even do Boating. The boat club was crowded so we skipped the plan of boating. And went towards ropeway. After reaching at the Ropeway we got to know that it was going up the mountain to Karni Mata temple situated at the top. So we decided to go there. I was really excited for the ropeway ride but due to the sounds comming from the machine supporting the rope scared me off. Now i dint wanted to go in the Ropeway. My friends forced me and took me with them. While on half way mark they started scaring me saying if we fall we will fall directly into water. and all nonsense. I just kept my eyes closed holding Koushals hand tightly, and then what a relief on getting out of the cart. My friends were just making fun of me. We first took Darsha of Karni mata and then went towards to opposite end. There you get a view of whole Udaipur city. We clicked some photos over there and then came down. while coming the rope way was even more scary, somehow i reached down and thanked God that i was alive.



It was almost 6:00 pm, when we were about to left from there. Then we wen to Fateh Sagar Lake where Koushals Sister had come to see him. We were there for almost 1hr. The sun was down and the lake looked pleasant. The place was crowded. While returning to Koushals place the weather went wild. Heavy Rain and lightning. I thought i might have to cancel my Delhi ride. We reached Koushals place by 10:30pm, We had our dinner at a local dhaba and went home. I packed my things according to my riding schedule. Delhi was 650 km from Koushals place. I had never traveled for such long distance. I was a bit worried. Weather i will be able to do that or not. I wanted to sleep early but due to our Udaipur tour i was not able to sleep.


DAY 4 ( 4.4.2017 ) SHIVTALAO (RJ) TO DELHI

By the time we slept it was 1:30am and i had decided to leave at 4:30am. We had total of 5 mobile phones. I had kept alarm in all the five of them. I woke up at 3;30am, and got ready. Koushal and Sourabh were coming to drop me till the main highway. 


I texted my parents at home and mamaji in Delhi, that i am leaving. We traveled 45km till the main highway which took us 1 hr. Really thankful to Koushal and Saurabh For dropping me till the highway. they returned from there and i went ahead.



 Now I had to travel 600km more. It was 5;30am by that time. The road was i had to go was Pali-Beawar-Ajmer-Jaipur-Gurugram-Delhi


I took my first halt 80 km from the place where my friends came up to. Roads were FAB, traffic was very less, yaa there were trucks but not too many i was maintaining a good triple digit speed. I was not riding rash, the roads were empty. temperature was aroung 27 degree which was kind of good.



Sun was just rising which was not a problem. The problem was the fuel. I had half fuel when left, and on the way there were no fuel station. I was a bit worried. Running out off fuel was the last thing i would want to have with me on such an important ride. Luckily I found a fuel station which was open, but it was on opposite side of the road. I thought myself even more fortunate when i found that the road divider over there was broken through which i could take my bike on opposite side. I then refueled my bike to maximum.


I reached Ajmer by 7:30am, distance covered was around 250 km. My average speed was also good. I kept everyone updating my location every time I stopped. I really wanted to go to Ajmer Sharif Darga but i was  a bit inside high way and had to travel a lot more distance ahead.



After Ajmer I pulled my bike to its limits. I know on a tour i should not have done that but what to do SUPERB ROAD + SUPERB BIKE + SUPERB ME = SUPERB FUN


I am really sorry to all the people who did not like it. 

There is Flyby road to Delhi from Jaipur which skips the Jaipur city. Its a kind of fly over. almost around  of 25km. Just before that there are many fuel stations. I thought of Refueling there but saw that there was enough fuel so thought of fueling up later. As I took the flyover may be 5 km after that my bike started stalling. I got scared, I first looked up at the fuel indicator it showed enough fuel. I was tensed I dint wanted my bike to have a brake down in between. and one big problem is that that 25km of road does not even have a pan stall. No fuel station was there. If i ride my bike at 50kmph it was running good but as soon as i tried to increase the speed it used to stall. Last 5km went like hell. I was riding at a speed of 25-30kmph. I then found a fuel station, where i parked my bike opened the fuel cap and to my surprise there was enough fuel. I dint knew what was the problem. I asked the petrol bunker guy to full the tank. after that there was no problem, my bike was again running into triple digit speed. I think that place where i refueled first had something mixed with the fuel due to which there was problem in my bike. I even checked my tire pressure, my tire pressure had dropped by 10bar in each tire.


A few km after the bypass road was completely over, i parked my bike and took some rest. I had been drinking water every time i stopped, so this time i brought some soft drink and water. I called every one and told them about my location. I purposefully took that halt. I personally did not wanted to halt, but looking at my bikes condition I halted. I halted for almost 30 min. 

Now Delhi was 240Km, For the first 100 km i dint halted. After that riding interval started to decrease due to excess temperature. I had to keep myself hydrated. I stopped between 30-40km.
The roads are also not in real good shape. Due to heat road has melted and as you enter Haryana traffic starts getting worse.



AB DELHI DUR NAHI ( DELHI JUST 95KM )


Now i dint wanted to stop until Gurgaon but due to increasing temperature i had to take a halt in between. I drank water and ate one of the biggest Kufi in my life. Eating that Kulfi till the end was getting even tough than my Delhi ride.


As I was going to Delhi for the first time, My Mamaji had told me to give him a call as I enter Gurgaon. He said he would guide me there after. I was not sure how well will that work, But trust me guys My Mamaj is a Genius, he guided me from point to point without even a mistake. I dint even took one turn wrong. I had to travel almost 35km more up to his house from which 10 km were signals, turns, U turns, Flyovers. Trust me guys I dint went 1mtr wrong. GPS may get hang some times but my Mamaji is a super GPS. Special thanks to Mamaji for guiding me through Delhi ka traffic. And last 1km I was escorted my by sister till their residance.


I reached there by 1;30pm. I took me 9 hours to travel 638km. I really enjoyed the ride.
A soon as i entered the house, I saw everyone eagerly waiting for me. They treated me like a VVIP. I was really felling bad for trouble them. They were waiting for me to have lunch together. Mamaji had made such a delicious food that vanished all my tiredness. We then chatted till the evening. I then got freshened up and went to India gate with my Cousin. I am also thankful to Probin bhai for taking me to India gate. After almost 25 km of ride we were finally at India Gate. 
What a moment for me cannot be expressed in words. I done know why but tears were rolling down my eyes. I was so happy. That I had finally reached my destination. I clicked some pictures over there. We had Ice-cream. Explored the area and returned.




 
We reached home by 9:30pm. And again Super Delicious Dinner. the food was so delicious, i ate a lot. After dinner i was felling sleepy. As soon as I laid on the bed, within few seconds i went into deep sleep.


DAY 5 ( 5.6.2017 ) DELHI TO SHIVTALAO (RJ)

I had planned to leave at 7:30am from Delhi but i got up at 7:30am when my cousine woke me up. I then hurriedly got ready. Then Mamaji ke hath ka delicious Breakfast, followed by cold coffee. I was over full. They also gave me Real Fruit for the journey. I then left around 8:30 from their place. I am really thankful to them for such great hospitality. They made me so comfortable at there place as if I had been there many times. Mamiji had even packed Sandwiches for me, which i accidentally forgot at their place. I am really sorry for that.  

I refueled at the nearby station and came back from the same road i had gone through.
My first halt after that was 180km from their place. I dint stopped anywhere on the way.



Mean while my friends had gone to Jodhpur. I was in contact with them. As Pali was in center we considered it as meet up point. I reached Pali by 3;30pm. When I called then they were still in Udaipur. So I had my lunch there. The hotel where i had my lunch was crowded so i could not wait there so i decided to find a place ahead. I found a petrol pump ahead. I asked if i could wait for some time, the attendant said yes. After 30min the man inside the office asked my what i was doing, I had not seen that man earlier due to dark glasses of the office. So i went inside and asked for permission to sit for some time on which the man forced me to sit inside the office and wait for my friends. I am really thankful to that uncle for his kindness. My friends almost came 1hr 30min later. We greeted and then left towards Koushals House. It took us nearly two hours to reach at his residence. 


I was so happy that i had successfully  completed my ride up to Delhi. I had traveled 628km on that day. Then my friends chatted with me about my whole experience, The people i met The kind of roads and all other things. We decided to leave next morning for Vadodara. We had fun that night. My friends washed their bikes and then we had a fun inhouse spin.




We had our dinner and then we slept. We decided 5:30am as our departure time.


DAY 6  ( 6.6.2017 ) SHIVTALAO (RJ) TO VADODARA (GJ)

As decided we were all up by 4:30 and by the time we left it was almost 6:00am. the weather was cool and we were all felling energetic. We chose this road as according to Koushal bhai this was the best one.


First 70 km is of Ghat due to which I and Saurabh started felling sleepy. The road was narrow surrounded by thick forest. There were lots of  Monkeys and Peacock on the way. So we had to be very slow and careful.



The roads after that are really good. Its again a four lane road. We took a halt as soon as i saw a restaurant on the way. I drank 2 cups of coffee and tried to get myself refreshed. I was riding for past two days also so i was felling a bit tired.
There was a noticeable change in Saurabh's Riding. We could see him become more mature and confident as a rider. Koushal was suppose to lead but Saurabh was in such a form that he lead us.



As we were riding on highway my riding form was coming back. Then even i started to enjoy the ride. The temperature was hot, but was not affecting as much as it did on first two days.
Then we entered Gujrat. We were felling so happy. 



The roads in both these states are awesome. We had our lunch 70Km before Vadodara at around 2;30pm. Koushal wanted to carry on the journey towards lonavala but I and Saurabh were tires. He was not ready to stay with us at Vadodara. Some how we convinced him to stay with us. We reached Vadodara by 3;30pm. We again went at my cousins place for halt. Me and my friends were tired so we then slept up to 6:00pm. My cousin asked us if were willing to go for bowling. Koushal was very tires so he dint came, I and Saurabh went with him. We had a good round of bowling followed by food. Then took parcel for Koushal. After Koushal bhai having his dinner we decided to go to Soda Parlor. We had soda over there and then went for refueling our bikes as we were supposed to leave the next day. While returning my cousin showed a newly developing project which had gone very famous because of the sign board. So we took some pictures over there and then returned home. We had traveled 464 Km on that day.





DAY 7  ( 7.6.2017 ) VADODARA TO LONAVALA  ( FINAL DAY )

As decided we left by 6:30 am. the climate was pleasant. We took our first halt after 140km. We rode nonstop. My friends wanted to have Gujrati Fafda. So they had fafda and then we had coffee. We took a halt of about 30 min. Temperature was also not that high. We were in our complete comfort zone. We were moving in triple digit speed only. As it was last day and we were returning home none of us was interested in taking photos and even halts. We were only riding and riding and riding.


I and Koushal Refueled before entering Maharashtra. Saurabh Had enough fuel so he went ahead. We tried to catch him up on the way but he was no where to be found.


We kept calling him but he did not pick our phone. We got a bit worried. Suddenly he called back. He said he was waiting exactly 100km before Mumbai. We then moved towards him and took a halt just 100 km before Mumbai. We clicked some pictures. We were happy that we were almost at our place. Koushal even danced on the road



We were almost there so no need to hurry, everything up to now had gone well and we did not wanted to mess anything up now. so we proceeded up with more caution. Just 10km before Saurabhs house Heavy rain started, we had to take a halt. We halted for more than 30 min. We were standing under a tree, where we were hardly able to keep our self dry.



When the rain turned slow we decided to move. To our surprise it was bright sunny after just 1 km. It had not rained there. It was so hot out there that we were all dried up. Then came the time for Saurabh bhai to go on his way and for us to move our way. One last hug before end of this wonderful ride.


His house was just 15min away. I and Koushal then continued our journey. Looking LONAVALA on the direction board cheered us up. We reached Lonavala by 3;30pm. Said Byy to Koushal and left for my place.


My place is just a couple of minutes away. I reached my home. My family was so happy to see me back. The relief of tension on their faces could be seen easily. They did a small welcome tilak, and that's how an UNFORGETTABLE RIDE came to an end.


We had traveled 486 Km that day and the total distance covered my me was 3281 km.

SOME FUNNY QUESTIONS ASKED TO ME AFTER MY RIDE 

1. What i achieved ?
   My achievement was not completing the ride successfully, it was making two very strong friends. interacting with new people, connecting with long distanced family, and the most important becoming a responsible rider and becoming more mature as an individual. 

2. Why i did it ?
    I did it because i wanted to do it.

3. The most funny question "Kitne ka petrol hua" ? Cost of fuel Burnt
    The total fuel costed me Rs.5500.


PRECAUTIONS TO BE TAKEN

Refuel when your indicator shows bellow half mark.
Carry an empty bottle with you.
The roads are good but in some parts of Rajasthan its a bit scary, so avoid night journey.
Ride carefully.
Don't mess with squids, you will find them almost everywhere
