Day - 3 | Mahakal Temple - Kal Bhairav Temple - Nashik - Trambakeshwar |
Day 3 started around 6:00am. Our hotel was very near to Mahakal Temple. We went to temple around 7:30am. It being Monday the Temple was already crowded. So like the past day we decided to take direct pass. The pass costed Rs 1000/- ie. 250 each. Within a minute we had the glimpse of the All Mighty God The Mahakaleshwar. Being it a VIP line there was place for us to sit back and pray. We were there for almost a hour. We actually wanted to attend the Bhasma Arti, but locals told us that it needs advance booking son had to drop that plan.
About Mahakal Temple ( According to Google Aunty )
Mahakaleshwar Jyotirlinga is a Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Shiva and one of the twelve Jyotirlingams, shrines which are said to be the most sacred abodes of Lord Shiva. It is located in the ancient city of Ujjain in the state of Madhya Pradesh, India. The temple is situated on the side of the Rudra Sagar lake. The presiding deity, Lord Shiva in the lingam form is believed to be Swayambhu, deriving currents of power (Shakti) from within itself as against the other images and lingams that are ritually established and invested with mantra-shakti.
The idol of Mahakaleshwar is known to be dakshinamurti, which means that it is facing the south. This is a unique feature, upheld by the tantric shivnetra tradition to be found only in Mahakaleshwar among the 12 Jyotirlingas. The idol of Omkareshwar Mahadev is consecrated in the sanctum above the Mahakal shrine. The images of Ganesh, Parvati and Karttikeya are installed in the west, north and east of the sanctum sanctorum. To the south is the image of Nandi, the vehicle of Lord Shiva. The idol of Nagchandreshwar on the third storey is open for darshan only on the day of Nag Panchami. The temple has five levels, one of which is underground. The temple itself is located in a spacious courtyard surrounded by massive walls near a lake. The shikhar or the spire is adorned with sculptural finery. Brass lamps light the way to the underground sanctum. It is believed that prasada (holy offering) offered here to the deity can be re-offered unlike all other shrines
The darshan went well. There are lots of other small temples in the campus. By the time we cam out of the temple it was around 9:45am. There are many private auto rickshaw which take you to places near by the temple. We wanted to do that but our check out time was of 11:00 am, so we had our breakfast and decided to checkout first. We checked out and decided to go to Kal Bhairav temple. We asked google aunty to guide us there but ended up in a very small lane. This time google aunty had got us in trouble. Somehow i managed to turn the car around and then we asked people near us to guide us. Kal Bhairav temple is around 7 km form Mahakal Temple. The road are very narrow. It is better you go by Auto.
We reached there by 11:30. The place was very much crowded but we managed to take proper Darshan.
People offer liquor to the deity. NOO we did not did that.

Now what to do was the question. I wanted to get back home. By the time we left from there it was around 1:00 pm. I refueled fuel and air. and we got rolling. Nothing much happening on the way. the roads were good we were cruising around 110kmph. There was lots of traffic jam at Maharashtra Checkpost. There was no toll for the cars but the trucks were so much that we had to wait there for almost an hour to get out of the traffic.
It was around 6 :30 by the time we reached Nashik entry toll. There was a problem with the jeep guy standing 4 cars ahead of us. he had some issue at the toll due to which we had to again wait for another 30 min. My dad lost his temper, so he got of the car and had a small fight with the toll both guy. He wanted to talk to their in charge. But when the person In charge came, the person was a lady. My daddy therefore didnt argue with her. but the guys over there didnt spoke properly nor they were ready to give their complain book
We then left from there now Trambakeshwar was only 60 km away. I thought that we are going straight home but later came to know about change in plan. We reached Trambakeshar by 8:30pm. We had travelled 526 km on that day. And the best part was My DAD had completed all the 12 jyotirling now so he was also very happy.Had our dinner and decided to visit temple next morning and later even decided to visit Bhimashankar temple on the way.
