Road - Jaipur - Sikar - Churu - Hisar - Bathinda - Amritsar

Date - 13.07.2021

Total - 664.1 KM

Day 3

We got up at 4:30 am, were ready by 5:30, lubed our chains, mounted the luggage, and were all set to leave for Amritsar. Climate was pleasant and the sun had already come up.
We were staying near Jaipur Bypass Road. We took that road and made an exit from Delhi - Ajmer Highway towards Sikar which was on NH 52. The road was good and we were riding at a good pace. We took our first stop somewhere near Fatehpur which was almost 150 km from Jaipur.
On the side of the road saw this amazing place and decided to stop. It looked like some kind of old man-made step well. There were no details about it not was anyone there to tell us about it. I captured some pictures and then decided to leave.

On the way near a police check post, we were stopped by some bikers. There were also from Maharashtra. It was great meeting them. They were from Kolhapur and were on a Big Trip Travelling many Holy places and would go to Leh and back. We spoke to them for some time, Exchanged our information, clicked pictures, and moved on.

The road we had taken started from Rajasthan went into Haryana and then took us to Punjab, then again Haryana followed By Punjab.

We exited NH 52 at Hisar and took NH 9 from there till Fatehabad. This part of the road was also very good. Then exited for Sardulgarh Road which is a local road taking you from Inside parts of Punjab. There is nothing on the way. No signboards, no roads actually, it is just that we were following roads shown by some locals for goings towards Amritsar. We were told that it was the road to Bhatinda and from there was a 4 lane Highway. We then connected on SH 17 which was also not that great. I was rushing to get on the main highway. We did not have our breakfast nor had our lunch. Looking at all the crop fields made me understand why Punjab is called the Wheat Bowl of India.

We reached Bathinda around 1:45pm and by the time we crossed it and connected ourselves to NH7 it was almost 2:30 pm. The temperate was very high. My mobile got overheated and I had to switch it off to cool it again. It was at that time we had our proper stop and drank some fresh fruit juice on side of a Lake facing Thermal plant.

Amritsar was still 180km from there and We both were very hungry by that time. We decided to stop once we find a nice place to eat. The road to Amritsar after Bhatinda was extremely good. We found a place to eat and were thinking to stop for lunch but the climate had changed a bit and it was seeming to rain, as the clouds had turned dark. It would be tough for us to ride in the rain so we decided not to stop and go straight to Amritsar.

We reached Amritsar by 5:30pm, checked into the hotel by 6:10pm. The hotel was a 10 min walk from the Golden Temple. I took shower and was ready to leave for Golden Temple. Visited the Great Golden Temple. Had langar prasad, were back to Hotel at 10:00pm.

A detailed blog on the Golden Temple and Wagha border will be in the next blog. Stay connected.
