STEPS TO HEAVEN | KUND MALA | SUNDAY RIDE |
After my Delhi Ride I had not been anywhere for a ride. I dont prefer sunday rides as there are lots of bikers out. But this time i really wanted to go somewhere so i called up my friends and asked him if he wanted to join me on a small ride to Kund Mala.
We had never been there so he was also interested. We decided to leave by 7:00 am. but by the time we left it was 7:30.

We took Mumbai Banglore highway up to Talegaon. and from there Talegaon Chakan road. But after that Google Aunty showed a road going through farm. Route was set as per Bike mode and the destination was just 3.2 km so we decided to take that road.
I dint wanted to take that road but Koushal said we shall go and convinced me to take the route.
It was a good road at the beginning but later turned to be a very small road where only 1 bike could pass at a time
I dint had much of a problem but Koushal had to struggle a lot taking his such heavy bike off road
And finally we reached there. The view was awesome. our all the pain of getting there had vanished. There was a check dam across the river followed by water fall which was caused due to motion of water. It was a very nice place. There are no hockers or such to keep you irritating. You cannot find and food either. There is a very small bridge for crossing the river. We went over it and the beauty of the view multiplied by 100 times.
It was a bit scary so i decided to come down, where as koushal was enjoying the view. There were few bikes going through the bridge. so i asked where the road goes, they said it takes you straight to Banglore highway, which we left early that morning. So we decided to take that route while coming back home. After exploring the area we decided to leave. Koushal went first over the bridge and i somehow went through. The roads were very good and its a military area so you have to be in rules.
It was just 2 km from the highway. On reaching the highway we decided to have breakfast. So we went to Rupesh Misal ( near Somatne Phata ) had our breakfast over there and returned back to lonavala.
The distance we had traveled was 77km.
It is a very nice get away for people from Mumbai - Pune. You just have to cross Beghedawadi Railway station and the road is straight then
